A novel set in the Culture universe created by Iain M. Banks

Imitation is the sincerest [form] of flattery
Charles Caleb Colton (1780 - 1832)

Impact Analysis book cover Let me be clear at the outset: this is Fan Fiction. The action in this book is set in my best understanding of the Culture universe, as described in some detail by Iain M. Banks, and used as the background for many of his splendid novels and stories.

This book remains a work in progress. I now have good drafts of the first fourteen chapters and the Prologue - remember to start with the Prologue - although I'm sure I will be tinkering with them from time to time.

The remaining three chapters of this fanfiction novel I am still working on, together with the Epilogue.

I have started on a list of characters from the novel, as well as a chapter-by-chapter plot summary. Warning: spoilers.

Please feel free to read and comment on the available chapters.

Dark Matter Book Cover I have started work on a second novel set in the Culture universe created by Iain M. Banks. This one is called Dark Matter. This is still very much a work in progress. Apart from being set in the same fictional universe, this book shares no characters or plot with Impact Analysis, so the two works can be read independently.

Mind in the Making Book Cover Never a Coincidence Book Cover On a Pale Horse, Darkly explores what happens when a deep sea diver is asked to help resolve a conflict of desires between Minds.

Never a Coincidence is a sequel to Unusual Circumstances and further investigates events at the very beginning of The Culture's existence.

A new story provisionally entitled Mind in the Making is still in the early stages of development.
