For Sebastian's 9th birthday party, we took a large number of children (20, but it seemed more!) to a Laser Quest event in Manchester. This involved a minibus and a large 4x4 vehicle. Basically, we had the run of the place for the afternoon.Click on an image to enlarge.
The first activity was to get the kids organised into four groups (teams? armies??). I kept well out of the way while this was going on.
Once they had got sorted out and kitted up, the entire collection of brats were ushered through into the arena, where they were allowed to run around like mad, lasering each other.
Be afraid, be very afraid!
I've got no pictures from within the arena, since it was just too dark.
We had two sessions at Laser Quest, with a tea break in between.
The children really enjoyed their birthday tea, provided in brown paper bags.
The grown-ups were also provided with brown bags, including a small bottle of wine. This is the kind of thing that makes kids parties better for the parents!
After the event at Laser Quest, a surprising number of the kids returned home for present unwrapping.
Presents (and wrapping paper) everywhere!
A view of the Birthday cake. Note the action figures decorations!
A nice shot of Vanessa (known as "Nessa") at the party. Nessa is Tracey's god-daughter.
